The Tomb Awaits

Your habit was for fun, so cool it seemed.
All your friends did it, so hip was it deemed!
You found yourself at the top of the world
Only when it was between your lips, so curled!

You loved the smoke, envied the spirals,
You paid no heed to the upcoming virals,
Your eyes so glazed, with a mirage of pleasure.
too blind to see your bleeding loss of treasure!
Your good times were soon getting fewer and fewer
Your  got dark circles; Your food tasted like sewer,
Your life was controlled by the devil of smoke
your lungs were now screaming, coughing from the choke

Your "Pack-a-day" turned to "Packets-per-hour",
Your filter-paper rolls, now had all your power,
Your life now consisted of only butt ends
Your body, an ashtray; Nothing left to mend

Now you look at me, morose on your deathbed
you flinch at my hard words, at every word I just said,
They say you wont live to see another morning,
Too bad, you missed out on the "STATUTORY WARNING"!

Oh! Do Tell Me Why!

I found this one, when i was sifting through my old diary. . .
I wrote it almost a decade ago, so please do not wonder if My Brain has reverted to childhood
;)

Oh! Do tell me Why,
Why the stars do shine,
Why the moon looks white,
And the clouds so white!

Why forests have trees,
Why trees do have leaves,
Why leaves are so green,
And why bullies so mean!!

Oh! Answer me this,
Why feathers are light and stones are not,
Why clovers are green, but petals are not,
Why the Sky is so blue, but the earth just is not,
Why flowers go bloom, while fallen ones rot!

Oh! Do tell me Why?
Why mom seems so cross,
Its just a small scratch,
Why dad seems to scoff,
My crayons are high,
Now beyond my reach,
A lesson they all,
Just wanted to teach!

A Tribute To Mother India

She was born in an age so dark
Her creators meant to make a mark
Her future dark, but not too stark,
The golden bird of fame

They fought for her with iron stance
they tarried not; none looked askance
they made the plans; took every chance
To free her was their aim.

She had been caged for long, long times
Her love was chained by hateful crimes
her freedom like a bird's clipped wings
Such was her life of shame

and then it changed; the wheels of fate
Her people woke, &none too late
For it was time to make a choice
Of freedom from the chains

She called for blood; She was enraged
The blood did spill, but none in waste
For shattered chains & freedom cries
Were rent into the air.

She is free now, to fly up high
Her wings restored; Willing to try
Her children bold & fighters all
Her Pride restored Once More!

A Happy Independence Day To
All My Indian Readers Out There!

Jai Hind!

The Inheritance of Battle

When thick blood flows as fury's river
Lives are lost and survivors quiver
All but one question comes to my mind,
Answers to which none seem to find

A battle as planned by a monarch or two,
Scheming for glory, which never was their due,
Each aims to annex the lands of the other
The interests of the people are up for no bother

They live a life so costly, their coffers so full
Great food to eat; sweet wine to mull
Monarchs that they are, blood ran so cheap,
Lives of countless taken, others left to weep

Battle for them was naught but a wager
For lives of others - not other's- were in danger
Lives of their people, whom either loved not,
Doomed into servility, Lest outlawed to rot

And so begins a battle, as arrows downpour
Passing through shields, sculling some more
Pandemonium is the name of the game
Death tends to gain, on their fight to fame

When the battle dies down, and the dust has settled,
The vision that awaits you will leave you UNsettled
for farther than your moist eyes will see
blood spattered swords & bodies will be

Aplight so grim, and so very evil,
Will be a sight so common, the work of the devils
Lest we stand tall, & fight for their fate
Do it now, lets, Before its too late

Bangles and Chains

She lives in darkness; knows not of light
The fates; they laugh at so sad a plight

The Bright sun, mocks her as she sits down to weep;

Such are the secrets she is doomed to keep.

Of bangles and chains; her story retold
Deep knotted veins; the tragedy behold

She hides her pains, as wrinkles unfold;
Her losses are gains, memoirs in gold.

Of bangles and chains, Its winter once more,
The daughter of ceres, They knew not her lore

In midst of the void, her search for a door

She finds that there are none; tears taste so sour

Of bangles and chains, History is made

The bangles just colored, the chains melt away

She comes up to task, and its spring again

Too long has she slept; she's not reborn in vain

Forsake Your Identity?

If god gave you one small chance
to be what you could be

If he tells you to drop the farce
Choose an Identity

would you be your own true self
or just be someone else?

Would you try another way?
another Truth to tell?

Would you be like the silent sea?
Mysteries you behold?

Would you be a speaking tree?
And let the truth be told?

Would you sail to farthest lands
A sailor , would you be?

Would you take to the lonely skies?
A gentle Bird so free?

Would you rather deem it great
To be a bird of Prey?

Would a life of a hunter's bait
Be your final say?

Or would the final choice you make
Be none from those above?

Would your choice be what it was
Not so long ago?

"Your true destiny Awaits You
with wings of patience and a hint of Anxiety."

Make Me Feel Alright

When I was down, on the ground,

And I lay bleeding from my dark fight,

I saw a sight; it’s you I found,

You made me feel alright!

I saw you then, as True a Grace,

And my two eyes saw you in the limelight,

I felt the love, in your embrace,

You made me feel alright

When you were gone, I felt the pain,

It was a very bad plight,

When you were back, I lived again,

You made me feel alright

The night was dark, but then you came,

The daylight just broke through the dark night

But for you, it’s not the same

You made me feel alright

And now I tag!!

Lena (If you haven’t alredy done this)

SuhaniSoniya (You gotta do this, girl!)

The listener (Hee Hee)

Think Tank (A nice reply tag for you!)

Man in Painting (If you are interested Sir!)

Scribbler (Hii! )

Divya (If you haven’t already done this one!)
Also this is an open tag; anyone interested can take it up....!!

The next one, is the

SPECTACULAR QUIRKS TAG!!

This Tag is from the Vinay & Think Tank

These are the
rules to follow-

1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger's blogs, letting them know that they have been tagged.

So here goes…6 unspectacular quirks of Sid - The Tagged one…!

1. I always reformat my hard disk even if I see a tiny error in the running of my pc. Even if its not a virus! Weird? Not when you dual boot your pc with Linux! Oh! And yes, I am a linux freak. So only dare to start that topic with me if you are genuinely interested. I have been known to bore the skin off some supremely uninterested people with that subject. (And that is not hard since there are more than 650 Linux-based operating systems!)*

* And still counting!!

2. I am a data hoarder. I love to store data of any type and nature. Right now I have 20TB of data approximately.

3. I have given up watching Kannada movies, Once I saw mungaru male,(though I’ve probably watched only a couple of kannada movies before it. That “movie” totally messed with my brains. I was dragged in to the theatre to see that worthless piece of junk. No more movies in kannada for me, even if Mungaru feMale comes up! No Kidding!

4. I am probably the only person in the world who loves animals so very much but have never had a pet of my own. Mom just won’t let me; she says getting attached to them will only bring more pain if & when something happens to them.

5. When it comes to Organising, I am obsessive compulsive…. I tend to categorise pretty much everything that I lay my eyes on. This would be obvious to you, if you see my pc. Everything is categorized into Entertainment, Gaming, Workstuff, Audio, Video, and Useless-but-still-taking-up-space. Each one is then organized into sub categories. For example in videos partition (Yes, I do keep a separate partition for everything! So Sue me!), I have categories like : English-Hollywood, English-album, English-miscellany, hindi-album, hindi-bollywood…… You get my drift!

6. I have not visited a movie theatre for a very long time. See my previous post to know which movie I last saw! Some people (and rightly so, says my mind) Have even advised me to “Get a life!!” . (Sigh!)
****************************************************
And Now the hard part. It seems so hard to tag when so many people have already been tagged before!

So in the list below, If someone has already done this one, Please send me a link to that post.

:)
